Steve Hislop Dies In Copter Crash

Copyright 2003, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc. According to British news reports, reigning British Superbike Champion Steve Hislop, 41, died in a helicopter crash in Scotland Wednesday. Hislop is believed to have been at the controls when the helicopter crashed. Hislop lost his ride with MonsterMob Ducati after winning the 2002 British title; he had recently left the Virgin Yamaha team after a difficult 2003 season-to-date, and was about to start riding for ETI Ducati. Hislop was also the 1990 British 250cc Champion and the 1995 British Superbike Champion, and had won at the Isle of Man 11 times.
