Hendersonville, North Carolina: Öhlins USA announces with elation that Stig Pettersson, the fairly famous suspension tuner of champion motorcycle racers, has relocated to the mountains of North Carolina to work more closely with Öhlins USA. The story of Stig is nearly the story of American road-racing champions. Stig has worked with the teams Fast by Ferracci, Muzzys, Erion Racing, Ducati Austin, Vance & Hines and Yoshimura Suzuki. In more recent years Stig has tuned the suspension for the teams M4 Suzuki and Michael Jordan Motorsports. About his momentous move to the mountains Stig said, “I started out as an off-road rider and tuner, working with Brad Lacky back when he won the World MX Championship, and that’s primarily what I’ll be concerned with now; working with Öhlins USA’s motocross and off-road team of technicians. I will also still be operating Pettersson Pro Suspension, keeping my existing clients happy. This will all start on February 1.” Doug Shaw, Öhlins USA’s General Manager said, “We have been hopeful to get Stig on board for some time now, so we anticipate great things having him in the shop with us. He will be a huge asset to our team and we look forward to him taking part in our training seminars and contributing to the development of our components. With Stig and “Thermosman” Fitzgerald under the same roof we now have two of the biggest legends of suspension here to help racers and riders get the most out of our innovative shocks and suspension components.” Stig can be contacted at Öhlins USA (828-692-4525), or at Pettersson Pro Suspension: 764 Glenn Bridge Road, Arden, NC 28704; 714-323-5779; [email protected]. Öhlins USA distributes and services the world’s leading performance suspension for automobiles, motorcycles, and ATVs. Öhlins develops its proprietary and innovative suspension components at the highest levels of racing from open-wheel car racing, to Moto GP, to off-road competition on two and four wheels. Öhlins USA also provides training for service centers and dealers. www.Ohlinsusa.com
