FIRST PERSON/OPINION: Via e-mail: To who it may concern; On May 13, 2011 Latus Motors Racing Powered by RSRacecraft rider Jason DiSalvo had his preliminary qualifying times disallowed for fuel outside of AMA specs. I am writing on the behalf of Wilcox & Flegel, the fuel distributor for Sunoco Racing fuels in the Northwest. Wilcox & Flegel have never received an order or delivered any fuel to this team that was not Sunoco 260GTX. The drum of fuel that was in use at Infineon was repacked at Paul Oil Company and shipped to us labeled as 260 GTX. We in turn in good faith sold it to the Latus Motors Racing team. After further inspection we believe the product was actually contaminated by the drum cleaning procedure and we have agreed to reimburse the team and a call truck to return the offending fuel. We always do our very best to deliver quality and consistent fuel to our customers and apologize to the team, the AMA, and any race sponsors that were potentially offended by this inadvertent violation. We do not believe anyone from Sunoco, Paul Oil Company, Wilcox & Flegel, or TeamLatus Motors Racing knowingly intended to use fuel out of the AMA Pro Road Racing Spec. Sincerely, Norm Reitner Wilcox & Flegel
