World Superbike’s solidarity for the earthquake-hit population of Abruzzo (Italy), which was manifest in two actions of support at the Assen and Monza rounds of this year’s championship, has resulted in a contribution of 15,000 Euro being made in favour of assistance for the population. WSB riders unfurled a “Forza Abruzzo!” banner on the starting-grid at the Dutch rounds, and this was followed by a charity auction for the paddock public at Monza, with helmets, leathers and other racing items being made available by the riders specifically for the event. The proceeds, together with a contribution from Infront Motor Sports, have now been devolved to Italy’s National Civil Protection unit this week as a gesture of support for the population. Infront Motor Sports would like to express its sincere thanks to all teams and riders who made available items for the auction and for their support for this initiative.
