TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (September 22, 2008) “” Noah Talley, a 13-year-old Supermoto racer from Elk Ridge, Utah, who is a regular competitor in the Plaza Cycle Utah Supermoto Championship at Miller Motorsports Park, has received a very prestigious invitation to participate in the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup Tryouts next month. Talley, who started riding in motocross at age 8, has been competing in Supermoto races for the past two years. He currently competes and is leading the points in the 450cc Intermediate, 250cc Expert and Asphalt Only classes in the Plaza Cycle Utah Supermoto Championship, in which he regularly competes against riders who are much older than he. This year’s Tryouts will take place October 4-6 at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, Ala. “It is an honor to have been chosen to participate in the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup Tryouts,” Talley said. “I’m really looking forward to seeing how I stack up against some of the best young riders in America, and I hope that I can make a big step up in my racing career.” Talley’s task will be formidable, since the Rookies Cup is seeking road-racing talent and all of his experience has been in motocross and Supermoto competition. The Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup is a unique program for fostering motorcycle talent in promising young riders who compete on actual road racing circuits in front of raceday crowds, on identical bikes and under identical conditions. The program is designed to create a level playing field so that the best and the brightest emerge at the top and no young talent is overlooked due to a lack of financial resources or professional backing.
