FIRST PERSON/OPINION Via e-mail: Motorcycle Roadracing Association and Master of the Mountains multi-class Champion Shannon Moham underwent four hours of back surgery on November 6, at Skyridge Hospital in Lone Tree, Colorado under the care of Dr. Chad Prusmack. The injury was not related to a crash. He has degenerative disc disease which is due to the rigors of his job. The surgery went well and Shannon is currently home with his wife, Segren Anderson, in Littleton, Colorado. Both Shannon and Segren would like to thank the road racing community for all the support and well wishes they provided for Shannon before, during and directly after his surgery. Shannon has always worked hard to maintain his outstanding level of physical fitness and will work even harder to recover over the next several months. Any encouragement would be welcomed via e-mails and/or correspondence from those who would like to say hi! He is expected to make a full recovery and is planning on returning for the 2009 race season. On a special note, Shannon and Segren would like to send out big thank you to the Masters of the Mountains series for awarding Shannon the 2008 Sportsman of the Year award. Shannon was unable to make the Masters of the Mountain road racing banquet in Utah this past Saturday due to his surgery, and was pleasantly surprised and honored to receive this award. Again, we would like to thank everyone for all the support and encouragement and look forward to a successful and exciting 2009 road racing season. Please send words of encouragement to Shannon at [email protected] Segren Anderson Littleton, Colorado
