Jessica Zalusky underwent knee surgery on Friday, November 7, in Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota, by Dr. Bradley Nelson and Dr. Elizabeth Arendt. The knee surgery included medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction and lateral retinacular lengthening. Zalusky sustained the knee injury during her pre-racing career as a professional snowboarder. Zalusky came out of surgery around 5 p.m. local time on Friday and is now resting at home. Zalusky will have similar surgery on her other knee at a later date. She anticipates an early 2009 return to road racing.
