Surgery to reconstruct racer Lee Acree’s left lower leg and restore blood supply using an artery and tissue transplanted from his abdomen was successfully completed Friday. “Lee has a new leg,” his wife Laurie posted on the WERA BBS (www.wera.com). “The artery from his stomach now has a pulse in his leg. I can not describe to you the miracle I feel Lee has received. Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts everyone. He has 2 crucial recovery weeks then 6 weeks to hang out with his leg elevated.” Well wishes may be sent to Acree at the hospital, addressed as follows.
