Suzuki Posts Nearly $8 Million in 2019 Racing Contingency

| Brea, CA (February 8, 2019) – Offering one of the most comprehensive payouts in the industry, Suzuki Motor of America, Inc.’s (SMAI) Racing Contingency Program returns strong for 2019 with nearly $8 million in available funds. From local series to world championships, and everything in between, Suzuki’s commitment to racing and its leading contingency program as well as Suzuki’s Amateur Racing and RM Army Support is at the core of its DNA. Up to $6 million in contingency is available for off-road and motocross riders to race the all-new Suzuki RM-Z250, RM-Z450, RM85, and RMX450Z. Nearly $1.3 million can be earned by road racers competing on legendary GSX-R1000, GSX-R600, and SV650 sportbikes. An additional half-million dollars of contingency is available to flat track racers campaigning the RM-Z450 or using engines from the renowned SV650 V-Twin.
2019 Suzuki MX & Off-Road Contingency Program
Suzuki’s MX and Off-road contingency has been expanded with the addition of several premier off-road racing championships plus continued support of AMA Supercross, AMA Motocross, and a variety of amateur series. The program includes track-side support and double contingency payout at selected events.

Built on a championship-winning legacy, the RM Army program is designed to create passion and unity between Suzuki and its racers. Through Suzuki’s Amateur Racing Support, RM Army amateur racers can take full advantage of program benefits including a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend Camp Carmichael; a unique and exclusive program that provides Suzuki amateur racers the chance to train with 15-time MX/SX Champion, Ricky Carmichael, at his private training facility in Cairo, Georgia. During this two-day camp, “The G.O.A.T” will help riders improve their overall MX skills and cover topics such as fitness, training, and bike set-up.
2019 Suzuki Road Racing Contingency Program
Suzuki’s road racing contingency offerings have been increased to include several premier championships including MotoAmerica’s Superbike, Stock 1000, SuperSport, and Twins Cup classes, along with other regional and local amateur road race events. Suzuki remains the brand of choice with recent road racing championships captured on GSX-R and SV models*.

2019 Suzuki Flat Track Contingency Program
To support the renaissance of flat track racing in the United States, Suzuki’s 2019 contingency program includes the American Flat Track series with pay-outs available in the AFT Twins, AFT Production Twins, and AFT Singles classes. This support is fitting as past Suzuki World Champions such as Kevin Schwantz and Kenny Roberts Jr. started their racing careers on flat track machines.

Suzuki Posting Contingency In Four MotoAmerica Classes
COSTA MESA, CA (February 8, 2019)– Suzuki Motor of America Inc. has announced nearly $8 million in contingency for the 2019 racing season, including nearly $1.3 million going to the MotoAmerica Series racers who race a Suzuki GSX-R1000, GSX-R600 and SV650.
Suzuki has announced its MotoAmerica contingency program for the 2019 MotoAmerica Series, a program that totals nearly $1.3 million.
Suzuki’s road racing contingency offerings have been increased to include several premier championships, including MotoAmerica’s Superbike, Stock 1000, Supersport and Twins Cup classes, along with other regional and local amateur road race events.

Suzuki’s contingency pays $10,000 to win a MotoAmerica Superbike event; second place pays $5000, third pays $3000, fourth pays $2000 and fifth pays $1000. Supersport will pay $6000 for a win, $4000 for second, $3000 for third, $2000 for fourth and $1000 for fifth. The Stock 1000 and Twins Cup feature identical payouts of $3000 for a win, $2000 for second, $1000 for third, $750 for fourth and $500 for fifth.
“Suzuki has been a supporter of the MotoAmerica Series since day one and they continue to support the series,” said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “For 2019, Suzuki is again offering a strong contingency program to our racers in four of our classes – Superbike, Supersport, Stock 1000 and Twins Cup. They also support the Yoshimura Suzuki team and the M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team in our paddock. If you win a MotoAmerica Superbike race you can take home $15,000 when you combine the Suzuki contingency with MotoAmerica’s payout. Win two races over the course of a weekend and that’s $30,000.”
MotoAmerica’s purse payout for the 2019 season is set at $1,430,000 across all five classes of racing.
The 10-round MotoAmerica Series gets rolling at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, April 5-7, and concludes at Barber Motorsports Park, September 20-22.
