SZOKE PREFACES THE WEEKEND WITH A WIN AT KELSO Seven Time Canadian Superbike Champion Jordan Szoke pedaled to a dramatic win yesterday at the Kelso Mountain Bike Race Series finale held at the Kelso Conservation Area. Szoke suppressed the competition by crossing the tape ahead of the field in the 3 lap sprint. Jordan demonstrates how his strict training program can launch him to be successful not only on the racetrack, but also when he is pushing the pedals. “It was awesome to win against these guys.” says Szoke “Many of them that attend these events are professional riders earning top 10 finishes, so to beat them feels pretty awesome. I would like to step up to that next level and compete with them more often, I think I can be truly competitive.” Szoke is aiming for his record breaking eighth Canadian Superbike Championship double header this weekend held at the infamous Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly known as Mosport). When asked if this particular win is prefacing the results for the Superbike event, Szoke laughed and said “I sure hope so, we have had a great run of wins and pole positions it would be awesome to keep that going right until the end of the season. Although, championships are truly my first goal, so we will have to see how we play it throughout the weekend. Rest assured though, I love to win.” The Weekly Mountain Bike Race Series is held at the Kelso Conservation Area, with a full calendar hosting 14 races plus a finale event at the end of the season. The series has welcomed many professional O-Cup and Canada Cup racers offering a good training ground with some of the best climbs that Southern Ontario has to offer. Szoke would like to send out a special thank you to Bicycle Works for their continued support of the Kelso Mountain Bike Series, and Jordan personally.
