Travis Wyman Wins at Pittsburgh International Race Complex
WERA – Pitt Race with N2 – Pittsburgh International Race Complex
July 16, 2017
Travis Wyman made a successful return to WERA roadracing over the weekend at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Wyman scored two wins, and three podium finishes in various Superstock and Superbike classes.
Wyman qualified 2nd for the C Superbike Expert race on Saturday aboard his Next Level Cycles Yamaha YZF-R6. On Sunday, Wyman got off to a great start and found himself in a battle at the front with fellow MotoAmerica racer Anthony Mazziotto. In the end, Travis was able to pull a comfortable gap with a few laps remaining to take home the win in the 10 lap sprint race.
“I am really happy to come back and grab a win,” Wyman said. “My goal was to try and come out and try and get back up to speed. I really just had a lot of fun riding my motorcycle and learning the new layout here. I owe it all to my Dad, Next Level Cycles, and Velocity Calibrations for getting my K-Tech suspension all dialed in.”
Travis also piloted his Next Level Cycles R6 from the back of the grid to a first place result in the C Superstock race, two second-place finishes in the A Superstock and Formula One classes, and a third in the A Superbike class to make a complete sweep of five podium results.
Wyman has taken a hiatus from professional competition due to lack of funding, but the weekend’s results at Pittsburgh have instilled confidence in his ability to compete again on the national stage.
“I would love to,” Wyman said, when asked whether he would like to return to professional racing. “My main focus right now is refining my program and sponsorship for the 2018 season. However, if the opportunity were to present itself to compete in one of the remaining rounds this year, I feel confident after this weekend that I could get right back out there and battle with the boys.”
Travis would like to thank his sponsors for their continued support: Next Level Cycles, Harv’s Harley-Davidson, Velocity Calibrations, Cortech, Arai, MotoOption, K-Tech, Dunlop, California Superbike School, Evol Technologies.
