Taylor Knapp will unfortunately miss round 2 of the AMA Pro Superbike Championship, the Subway Superbike Doubleheader, this weekend at his home track Road America, but the Michigan resident is remaining hopeful that he will find the necessary sponsorship to rejoin the series in the near future.

“I’m currently searching hard for more funding to make my race weekends a possibility,” said Knapp, who just co-rode with Army of Darkness to the overall WERA National Endurance race win at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, in Oklahoma. “It’s pretty disappointing being so close to home and not being able to make it to the racetrack. I’m staying positive about my outlook for the next few rounds and really hoping I can make it back to the AMA paddock for round three at Barber Motorsports Park.”

Knapp earned a pair of eighth-place finishes in the opening round of the AMA Pro Superbike series at Daytona International Speedway and currently sits ninth in the Championship point standings. Knapp’s career-best AMA Pro Superbike finish of fourth came in 2012, and his best finish of 2013 was sixth.

“I would like to thank TOBC Racing and CNCJobs.net for stepping up and making Daytona happen at the last minute,” said Knapp. “Now I’m hoping I can find some new partners to help me continue my season.”

Knapp can be contacted at [email protected].
