37 teams and 65 riders sign up for 2014 Moto2™ and Moto3™ Teams wishing to proceed with entries to the Moto2™ and Moto3™ World Championships of 2014 submitted their requests ahead of the first day of the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini on Friday 13th September. As is typical with these classes, the number of applications for entries greatly exceeded the number of vacant places on the grid. During the Aperol di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini event, all applications were considered by the Selection Committee which comprises of delegates from IRTA and Dorna. Provisional offers to participate have now been made to: – 20 Moto2™ class teams with a total of 33 riders – 17 Moto3™ class teams with a total of 32 riders Those teams provisionally accepted now have until Friday 11th October, coinciding with the opening day of practice for the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, to lodge a security deposit in order to guarantee their entry and to reconfirm details of proposed riders. An additional selection meeting will then take place at the Sepang International Circuit as an opportunity to review the applications and, in particular, to consider the proposed riders; further details on the 2014 entries will be made available after that meeting.
