Lake Elsinore, Calif. (October 6) – After a year off due to the global pandemic, the Team Hammer Advanced Riding School & Pro Practice program is returning to the 3.51-mile infield road course at Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, Florida, on October 14.
School students will receive classroom instruction from Chris Ulrich, who is a former AMA Pro/MotoAmerica Superbike racer and AMA Pro Superstock race winner, a two-time winner of the 8-Hours At Daytona, and a USMCA-certified motorcycle riding instructor.
In addition, Supersport race winner Sam Lochoff and 2006 Daytona 200 winner and 2008 AMA Formula Xtreme Champion Jake Zemke will join an experienced cast of racers handling on-track instruction.
School students will also receive a custom Team Hammer Advanced Riding School T-shirt and a frameable graduation certificate.
There are separate on-track school sessions for non-racers and for licensed racers, or licensed racers can sign up for one or more Pro Practice sessions.
Participants must be at least 14 years old to ride an ultra-lightweight machine in the school or practices, and riders must be at least 16 years old to ride anything larger than a 400cc-class motorcycle. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with the appropriate paperwork at sign-in and throughout the event.
This is the only opportunity available for experienced track riders who don’t have a racing license, to ride on the Daytona International Speedway road course.
Graduates of the Team Hammer Advanced Riding School are eligible to apply for a CCS or WERA racing license and can even participate in CCS and ASRA races later the same weekend, October 15-17 at Daytona International Speedway
The pre-entry deadline is 12:00 p.m. (noon) Pacific Time on Friday, October 8, 2021. Post-entries will still be accepted as late as the morning of Thursday, October 14, but anyone waiting until after the pre-entry deadline will have to pay a post-entry price and may have to wait longer at the sign-up building at the track.
Team Hammer Advanced Riding School graduates wishing to participant in the school again can do so at a discounted rate, with proof of prior participation.
Riders can sign-in/sign-up for the Team Hammer Advanced Riding School & Pro Practice at the Credential booth, accessed via Gate 70 on the back side of Daytona International Speedway, on Wednesday, October 13 from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Sign-in will resume at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, October 14 with pre-entered participants given priority.
