Daytona Beach, Fla – It was thirty years ago when HurtByAccident.com team owner C.J. Czaia first set his eyes on Daytona International Speedway and the Daytona 200. As he watched the powerful two-wheeled machines race around the track, he knew it was definitely something he wanted to do. Thirty years later, his passion for motorcycles is as strong as ever. He has both raced on the track and fielded teams in the AMA and the SunTrust MOTO-GT (formerly ST) Series. But this year will mark the first time he has fielded three teams in the AMA Pro Road Racing’s Daytona 200 by Honda. “The Daytona 200 is America’s mot prestigious motorcycle race,” explains Czaia, a well known Florida Personal Injury attorney. “We have entered three teams in this March 6 spectacular; one in the Daytona SportBike event and two in the MOTO-GT Series. Flying the Czaia & Gallagher banner in the Daytona SportBike class will be the 2008 Venezuelan Supersport champion Armando Ferrrer. And, running in MOTO-GT2 will be John Linder and Jason Edmonds, who won their class in the 8 Hours At Daytona last season. Doing double duty, Armando Ferrer will team with Rodolfo Ramirez in the MOTO-GT1 class. Our goal is to bring home an AMA championship this year and I think we have an excellent chance to doing just that. All four riders are extremely talented and we have one of the best teams in the industry.” “I am very excited about Daytona,” exclaimed Ferrer with obvious enthusiasm. “It is an honor to be back with the team this season. This is the first time I have raced in the Daytona 200 and racing under the lights will really be spectacular. Our No. 64 Suzuki GSX-R600 is a great bike and I think we can do very well. The SportBike race is 57 laps long and we will probably have to make two pit stops. My teammate Rodolfo will be heading up the team and he really knows how to get the job done, so I have no worries. I raced selected MOTO-GT events last year and Rodolfo and I work very well together. We have a strong crew and I think March 6 will be a good day for us.” Ramirez, who rode and ran his own team in the first season of MOTO-ST competition, definitely knows what it takes to be successful. Running on a total shoe string budget, with no sponsor, he amazed people by ending the year in sixth overall, ahead of many sponsored teams. “I know this is going to be a good year for us,” he says with smile. “It is such a pleasure to work with a team of this caliber. They are extremely professional and totally dedicated to winning and that makes all the difference.” Equally as excited and determined are John Linder of Tampa, Fla., and Jason Edmonds of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., who will be showcasing the Czaia & Gallagher colors aboard the No. 69 Ducati PS1000LE. “We are ready to go,” says Linder. “We ended last season in second place, just three points short of the championship. This time out, we definitely want the title. Being part of the Daytona 200 is certainly special and both Jason and I will be going full bore to bring home the win. We want to put Czaia & Gallagher in the Number One spot.” The same exact sentiment is shared by the entire team and everyone is ready to go. “The bikes are ready, the riders are ready and the crew is ready,” sums up Czaia. “It is going to be a great season.”
