PARTY IN THE PARK BECKONS FOR TEAM TRACTION CONTROL AT CADWELL PARK
Team Traction Control are bidding to add to their podium tally at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire as the Motorpoint British Supersport and Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship riders prepare for one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar.
Andy Reid and James Rispoli have been battling for the podium throughout the season and the pair will both be pushing for the win that has so far eluded them.
In the Superstock class Joe Francis is determined to return to the podium this weekend after narrowly missing out at Thruxton, .
Rispoli said: “I’m excited for this weekend because we did well at Cadwell last year. We were the top Yamaha going into Race two and we know that if it does get sticky out there with the rain we’ll have good pace because the track has a lot of grip for us. We got to the front quickly and it’d be a shame not to do well here this weekend when you’ve got Roger Marshall behind you and doing track walks with you. This one is definitely for him and I want to keep the momentum building for us because since Snetterton we’ve continued to build and build. We have now been on the podium and on the pole which has been really good so for us it’d be really good to walk out of here with a win and two podiums.”
Reid said: “It’s a very enjoyable track and one of the most physically demanding circuits of the year with the changes of direction and the undulations. It’s going to be fun but you can’t get carried away and you have to keep your head screwed on here and you need to keep yourself calm. This is a track that the slower you feel you’re going the faster the laptime. There’s time where you can find yourself pushing on and you make mistakes and run wide so you can sometimes make up a lot of time by braking earlier and riding smoothly. That’s what I’ll look to do this weekend and work hard with the team to get a good setting from the word go and the sooner we get that sorted the better. Once we have that I’ll ride it as hard as I can. Even with the injury I wanted to come in right from the start of the year and get on the podium and now it’s a case of getting as many points as possible and climbing back up the table and hopefully getting a race win.”
Francis said: “I can’t wait for this weekend as it has been one of the strongest tracks for me over the past few seasons. We had a good result here last year and we will see how it goes – it would be nice to be on the podium at a minimum after the last few rounds where we have been making big steps forward.”
