Replacement rider Kousuke Akiyoshi for Assen and Barcelona The Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team announces, that as a quick solution for the upcoming Grand Prix in Assen and Barcelona Kousuke Akiyoshi, Honda’s test rider, will replace Hiroshi Aoyama on the Honda RC212V. Hiroshi Aoyama had a nasty crash in Silverstone in which he fractured his vertebra T12 and the 28 years old Japanese will not take part in the next couple of Grand Prix due to this injury. The team is currently looking for a stable replacement after the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona until Aoyama will come back fully recovered. Kousuke Akiyoshi will start for the Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team with the number 64. Daniel M. Epp, Team Manager: “It really is a pity that Hiro had this nasty crash in Silverstone and that he injured himself so bad, so he will be out for the next couple of months. Especially now his learning process was really good and he was consistently getting better. We hope he will have a quick recovery and that he will be back with us as strong as he was before as soon as possible. For the meantime we are looking for a stable replacement. At the moment we don’t have a rider apart from Assen and Barcelona and we are looking for a suitable solution.”
