Apex Race Services/TT Motosport Tim Hunt had a podium weekend at CCS/ASRA Roebling Road Raceway

The weekend was full of uncertainty for Apex Race Services/TT Motosports Tim Hunt and his Yamaha YZF R6. Many choices had to be made as to bike set up, gearing and tires. The weather was very indecisive all weekend which made track conditions ever changing Saturday morning was a very wet practice but by the afternoon the cloud cover broke and started to dry the track. Tim was able to get in a couple good sessions in both we and dry conditions. “I feel ready for tomorrows races, the tricky part is going to be the weather.” Hunt stated.

Tim started off Sunday in a great nose to tail battle in Expert GTU with three other racers. He clawed his was to second place and a red flag was thrown. With the restart he went into turn one in third place and maintained position for the five lap sprint in sketchy semi-wet conditions. “I was able to pass in the first half of the race but after the restart the only corner that had good passing conditions was now wet and no longer safe in my opinion. It was not worth the risk of taking anyone out.” In Hunt’s next dryer race Expert Supersport Middleweight he got a great jump off the line and was in third place when he had a mechanical issue and dropped back to fifth by the checkered. With a quick repair and tire change to the bike due to heavy rain beginning to fall again, Tim took the third podium position in Expert Superbike Middleweight. Hunt took the win in the Formula 40 Middleweight class. With his last two races being back to back he took podiums in both the Expert Grand Prix Middleweight and Expert Superbike Heavyweight.
