GP Suspension test rider and 5 time/current OMRRA #1 plate holder Alan Schmidt resets the PIR track record twice in the same weekend. Alan Schmidt aboard his 2009 Suzuki GSXR1000 with a stock engine & newly developed GP Suspension cartridge kit for the BPF – “big piston fork” set a new outright lap record in Saturday practice turning a 1:06:800. After GP Suspension fitted another test valve stack for Sundays races, Alan was able to reset the new outright track record again in Sundays Open Super Sport race besting it by almost .5 seconds locking a 1:06:362 in nearly 100 degree weather. Alan was quoted in the OMRRA trophy ceremony at days end – “Between my 2009 Suzuki GSXR1000, Pirelli DOT tires, GP valved Penske shock and newly developed GP Suspension 25mm cartridge kit, it makes setting track records in the 97 degree heat almost a one handed job”. Alan said, “If the August races are a little cooler I think the track record will drop again.” GP Suspension 25mm cartridge conversion kits for the new Suzuki & Kawasaki BPF design are proudly made in the USA in house on the newly purchased Mori Seiki NL2000 SY/500 multi axis cnc lathe. Components will be publicly available in as little as 2 weeks while some limited pre-production units are now available for top level racers only. All times were recorded by AMB electronic timing system and are certified correct by OMRRA scoring officials.
