ANDREA DOVIZIOSO’S RACING SUIT TO BE AUCTIONED ON LINE, THE SUIT HAS ALSO BEEN SIGNED BY VALENTINO ROSSI

Andrea Dovizioso’s SPIDI race suit is set to be auctioned online from tomorrow the 9th September 2014. The Italian Moto GP rider has donated his Indianapolis Grand Prix race suit to Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo, a charity providing medical care to children in developing countries. The race suit has also been signed by Valentino Rossi.

Milan, 9th September 2014 – Motorbike champion Andrea Dovizioso has donated the race suit he wore during Indianapolis Grand Prix on 10th August, in aid of Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo, a charity he has been testimonial of for a long time.

Andrea’s race suit has been signed by Valentino Rossi. It also bears the mark of Valentino’s wheel, as during a slightly aggressive overtaking, Valentino’s bike came in contact with Andrea. Valentino apologized immediately and Andrea declared that it had been a normal race contact.

The charity wishes to thank the two motorbike champions. The funds will be used to support heart surgery units in the most deprived areas of the world.

Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo is a no profit association. It trains doctors, builds and support cardio-surgical paediatric centres in the most deprived areas of the world and provides health care to children affected by heart dysfunctions.
It was founded by Professor Alessandro Frigiola, currently heart surgeon of the paediatric unit in IRCCS San Donato Hospital in Milan. The association counts on a voluntary staff of more than 150 people (surgeons, physicians, assistants and technicians). It is active in deprived areas in order to give a life hope to children with heart diseases. The charity is active also in war zones including Syria and Iraqi Kurdistan with facilities in aid of refugees.

THE ASSOCIATION – The association Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo is a lay, non-profit, independent organisation that, thanks to the voluntary collaboration of more than 150 surgeons, doctors, nurses and technicians from the most prominent Italian and foreign cardiosurgical centres, operates in countries in difficulty, in order to give the hope of life to children with heart disease. The Association was born in 1993 in Milan through the efforts of Professor Alessandro Frigiola, head clinician of the Cardio-surgical Operations Unit I – I.R.C.C.S. San Donato General Hospital – San Donato Milanese, Hospital Group San Donato and by Professor Silvia Cirri, head of the Operations Unit of Intensive Care and of the Anaesthesia and Resuscitation Service – Institute Clinic San Ambrogio – Milan, Hospital Group San Donato. Every month the Association organises hope missions in different Countries training doctors and building cardio-surgical paediatric centres in the most deprived areas, in order to develop the local health system and combat the infant mortality rate. The Association is Charitable Organisation (DM 28/01/00) and ONLUS from 2003.
