Thieves broke into the Alberta Mini Roadracing Association (AMRA) storage seacan and cleaned out half of the club’s demo bike fleet, CR100s, CBR125s, CRF50s and 15+ sets of new leathers and equipment for the club’s teen program. The bikes were stored at the Varsity Kart Track in Calgary, Alberta and were stolen on or around Saturday. There were 15 sets of new children-size to teen-size Joe Rocket one-piece leathers (red with black trim with Honda on the chest in white lettering). Several bikes were also taken. All the bikes are set up as road racers so they have street tires, not knobbies. The thieves even took a couple of the 50s that are used to teach little kids to race. “It’s a sad day for the AMRA,” stated Jay Fox, President of AMRA. “We had so much planned with this equipment and rely so much on it to run the kids programs.” There is still enough left to run some of the AMRA summer programs as the older half of equipment is located in another storage site.
