Champion Hill announces ambitious new THM ePayMe Yamaha team for 2016

Former champion Tommy Hill has today (Thursday) announced that he will return to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in 2016, managing his new Tommy Hill Motorsport Team (THM) with title sponsorship from leading outsourced payroll provider, ePayMe.

The THM team will be fully-supported by Yamaha, the manufacturer that has been synonymous with Hill’s own racing career. Hill made his MCE BSB debut with Yamaha in 2004 after winning the inaugural one-make Yamaha R6 Cup in 2003 before celebrating title victory in the Superbike class in 2011 in a thrilling title decider.

The highly ambitious partnership between THM and ePayMe is a continuation of their relationship forged from the 2015 season and the team are already looking ahead to their debut campaign in the championship.

ePayMe are a specialist recruitment process outsourcing company that provides a comprehensive range of payroll and accounting services to contractors and recruitment agencies. Working with hundreds of recruitment agencies throughout the UK across multiple sectors, ePayMe has the right solution for any requirement.

Tommy Hill, THM ePayMe Yamaha Team Owner said: “This project is something I have been working hard on over the past two to three months. To secure ePayMe payroll Solutions as the Official team partner is great news and to be working in conjunction with Yamaha as a fully supported team is just the icing on the cake.

“I have had such a long career with Yamaha, starting with my first ever race bike when I was just six-years-old to winning the championship with Shaun Muir’s team in 2011. We have had a long and successful relationship together and I hope this can continue.

“After setting up a team in MCE BSB last season I know what it takes, and that you also have to be realistic, but I have been able to take a huge amount of experience into this new project. I also have some great guidance and support from people who have been a huge part of my racing career and to have Yamaha and ePayMe support this new venture is just fantastic news. I still have lots to finalise in the coming weeks and months, but I hope to get everything in place as soon possible, so we can be prepared to hit the ground running.”

Andrew Johnston, Managing Director of ePayMe, commented: “This is an exciting time for ePayMe and we are delighted to enter this partnership with the THM team. The ePayMe name has been synonymous with the BSB Series for a number of years and it was important that we partnered with a team that shares our exacting standards and big ambitions.

“We know Tommy Hill from our relationship with his previous team and he has put together an amazing and highly professional setup. The THM team has ambitious plans for the 2016 season and this has been recognised by both us and Yamaha. The opportunity to work with both Tommy Hill and Yamaha, is literally a dream come true and we are looking forward to a long and successful relationship, working hard together to turn the THM ePayMe Yamaha Team into a title-winning BSB team in the coming years.”

Karl Radley, Sales and Marketing Division, Yamaha UK, commented: “Yamaha are really pleased to have the opportunity go into partnership with Tommy Hill Motorsport for the 2016 MCE British Superbike season. Tommy has of course spent a good few of his racing years riding Yamaha machinery, including his stint in the R6 Cup and delivering Yamaha a fantastic British Superbike Championship win in 2011, so it is a real pleasure to be able to finally have him back in the fold, albeit in his new role as team manager.

“This is a new chapter in the Yamaha–Tommy Hill story, but we hope that it is only just the start of a new long term relationship that will see us continue the phenomenal success of the new YZF-R1 that we have seen in 2015.”
