Three of California’s motorcycle road racing sanctioning bodies will participate in a series to crown a California State Champion in 2010. Racers will compete in three different rounds, at three different tracks, for the title of Overall Champion, and class championships also will be awarded. The races will be part of the regular race weekends for each of the organizations. The tentative dates are as follows: – Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow on the WERA West race weekend in May. – Willow Springs International Raceway on the WSMC race weekend in July. – Infineon Raceway on the AFM race weekend in September. Final dates will be announced when the clubs finalize their schedules. “Willow Springs Motorcycle Club is proud to be supportive of and participate in the ca state championship. It should bring good competition to the motorcycle racing community,” says David McClelland, operations manager of the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club. “The AFM is proud to help support and also participate in this series with our brethren California racing organizations. It will be an excellent opportunity for the clubs as well as the motorcycle racing community,” says Shawn Reilly, president of the American Federation of Motorcyclists. The state championship will be open to any racer with an Expert license and at least age 16 by the first event in May 2010. Class structures, sponsors, trackside vendors will be announced when finalized. For more information, the website is: ~http://www.CaStateChampionship.com~
