Tickets Going Fast For American Hero Dinner Sponsored By Yamaha At Kenny Roberts Ranch

Modesto, CA April 19, 2012 Time is running out for you to join Kenny Roberts, Mert Lawwill, Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, and Kenny Roberts Junior at the Roberts Ranch for the American Hero Dinner benefiting “Welcome Home Heroes”.

The star-studded event is sponsored by Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., and will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012. Also attending the dinner and other events during the weekend will be Bruce Brown who produced, directed, and narrated the iconic 1971 Oscar-nominated film “On Any Sunday.”

The American Hero Dinner is being held on behalf of the Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr. Memorial Foundation, and representatives of America’s military elite, including Sergeant Major Jon Cavaiani (U.S. Army, retired), who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his valorous action in the Republic of Vietnam, will be in attendance.

Guest transportation will be provided from nearby Modesto to the Roberts Ranch where you’ll get to meet Kenny, Sergeant Major Cavaiani, and other motorcycle racing and military luminaries. You’ll get a personal tour of Kenny’s private museum located right at the ranch, followed by central California’s finest ranch barbeque.

After the dinner, guests will be transported back to Modesto to attend a special, no-charge reception and screening of “On Any Sunday” hosted by the Modesto Clarion Inn. The Clarion Inn has arranged for special group hotel rates for American Hero Dinner guests.

As a follow-up to the dinner, the 8th Annual Cpl. Michael D. Anderson, Jr. Memorial Ride will be held the next day on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Kenny Roberts and several other American motorcycle racing heroes are scheduled to ride in the event aboard Star® Motorcycles provided by Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. The ride is free and open to the public, and hundreds of Marines, soldiers, sailors, and airmen are expected to attend.

From its start in Modesto to its completion in the historic mining community of Jamestown, the Memorial Ride will be escorted by motorcycle units from the Modesto Police Department, the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department, and the California Highway Patrol, ensuring a safe and uninterrupted run through central California’s spectacular Mother Lode foothills.

The Friday evening reception at the Modesto Clarion Inn and the following day’s Memorial Ride are free and open to the public. The Clarion Inn will have special group hotel rates for participants in the Memorial Ride.
