Dr. Arthur Ting will be the Chief Medical Official–in charge of the medical staff at Laguna Seca–for the upcoming MotoGP and AMA Superbike combined event. Ting will be aided at Laguna Seca by Sports Rehabilitation Specialist Tuan Nguyen. “It’s now official that Dr. Ting and I are doing the MotoGP (event) at Laguna Seca. After two days of certification with the FIM, including an examination at the end, we’re now in charge of (the) Laguna Seca medical staff,” Nguyen wrote in an e-mail to Roadracingworld.com . “Dr. Ting is the CMO (Chief Medical Official); he will be in the race control room and make all final medical decisions–anything related to the race. I will handle the operational part of it. We will have 22 doctors with different specialties at the event. “Dr. Ting and I would like to thank Ron Barrick and Hugh Fleming of AMA Pro Racing and a big thank you to P.J. Harvey, Chairman of AMA Pro Racing, for making it possible for us to be involved. We also would like to thank the people who were behind us all this time–Kenny Roberts Sr., Wayne Rainey, Kenny Roberts Jr., all the other riders–for their support.”
