Cypress, CA – May 27, 2015 – Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, is proud to announce that TOBC racing has joined the Yamaha bLU cRU road racing family. The announcement was made by Keith McCarty, Motorsports Racing Division Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A.
“We’re excited to welcome TOBC racing and their entire team, including team owner Michelle Lindsay, into the Yamaha bLU cRU family,” commented McCarty. “TOBC racing is a highly successful team with a prominent and high-quality footprint in the MotoAmerica paddock. Michelle’s vision and mission mesh perfectly with our own at Yamaha Motor Corporation. We’re pleased to have Michelle and TOBC racing as part of our bLU cRU.”
The team is managed by former AMA Pro rider Scott Harwell, and TOBC rider Taylor Knapp is currently racing a 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 in MotoAmerica’s Superstock 1000 class. Taylor won Race 1 at VIRginia International Raceway the weekend before last, and he’s been on the podium four times in six races so far in 2015. Taylor is currently second in the Superstock 1000 points standings and just six points out of the Championship lead.
TOBC racing’s history of success includes the 2014 AMA Pro SuperSport Championship, and they also won the 2015 Daytona 200. They are one of the few female-owned racing teams in the MotoAmerica paddock, and TOBC racing is the only female-owned team that has won races in the series thus far.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to join the Yamaha bLU cRU family,” said Michelle. “We’ve got a great rider in Taylor Knapp, and he’s already running at the front aboard his new Yamaha R1. By partnering with Yamaha, we at TOBC racing look forward to seeing our team reach new road racing goals.”
