Jeremy Toye was as fast as he needed to be, leading from start to finish in the restarted 20-lap Toyota Cup Unlimited Formula One race and taking home $3,000 from the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club (WSMC) for his efforts.

On an afternoon when temperatures soared well over 100 degrees and the notorious Willow breeze was in full force, Toye put his Lee’s Cycles-tuned, Dunlop-shod Suzuki GSX-R1000 into the lead on the second restart and never failed to lead across the stripe en route to a 12.276-second win.

Jeff Stern took second place on the second restart and held it the entire distance on his Simi Valley Cycles and Proline Fastener-sponsored Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Jack Pfeifer held down the third spot for the first two laps, then Chris Duran took the position for the next two laps. Mark Simon pushed his X Dot Racing GSX-R1000 into the final podium spot for three laps, but Duran responded on his AIPRacing.com and Slowpoke Racing-sponsored Yamaha YZF-R1, took the spot back on lap eight and held it until the end.

The race was red-flagged twice, once for a crash involving Robbie Dowie, and the second time on the first lap of the restart when multiple bikes collided.

Andy Palmer collected a trio of wins in Solo GT-Light, 550cc Superbike and Formula Twins Lightweight aboard his West Coast GP Cycles-tuned Suzuki SV650. Shawn Higbee took a Buell 1125R to a pair of wins in Heavyweight Twins and Formula Twins Heavyweight, and Lenny Hale took the 600cc Superstock and 600cc Modified Production wins.

Reigning club overall champion Karl Lowry won the 650cc Superbike race on his Graves Yamaha YZF-R6, but crashed in the Open Superstock race and opted to sit out the rest of the day.
