Track Walk With AMA Pro Stars At Barber Motorsports Park Will Raise Funds For Tornado Victims

Barber Superbike Classic to Raise Funds for Tornado Victims through Track Walk with the stars of AMA Pro Birmingham, Ala. (June 10, 2011) ZOOM Motorsports and the Barber Motorsports Park announced today that the Barber Superbike Classic, held June 17-19th, will raise funds for tornado relief efforts by hosting a track walk with the stars of AMA Pro on Saturday, June 18th to benefit the Christian Service Mission. All spectators will be invited to walk around a portion, or all, of the 2.38-mile racing circuit while being accompanied by AMA Pro riders. Riders expected to participate will be 2010 AMA Pro National Guard American SuperBike Champion Josh Hayes and his wife, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike rider Melissa Paris, along with National Guard Jordan Suzuki riders Ben Bostrom and Roger Hayden, BMW rider Chris Peris, 2011 Daytona 200 winner Jason DiSalvo, Yamaha riders Josh Herrin, Tommy Aquino and Huntley Nash, Ducati riders P.J. Jacobson and Jake Holden, and also Elena Myers and David Gaviria from the SuperSport class. In addition to the top AMA Pro riders, SPEED TV announcers Scott Russell and Greg White will participate. Scott Russell is a multi-time AMA Pro and World SuperBike Champion and also a five-time winner of the Daytona 200. Greg White is the pit reporter for SPEED and is known throughout the motorcycle world. The track walk will take place after Saturday’s track events at 5:30 pm CT and will cost $10.00 to participate. Fans can purchase tickets for the track walk as they enter Gates 2 or 10 on Saturday, or in Lot E prior to the beginning of the walk. All proceeds from the track walk with the stars of AMA Pro will support tornado relief efforts through the Christian Service Mission, a local non-profit organization that connects resources with community needs.
