During its first two-day school at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Southern California, the TrackDaz New Racer School (NRS) graduated 18 new racers on Saturday and Sunday, January 22-23. The new racers, stepping up from the track day rider ranks, went through a day-long classroom and on-track orientation with lead instructor Stuart Smith. At the end of each day, the students competed in a three-lap mock race around the 2.68-mile Chuckwalla circuit. Upon successfully completing the event, each received a certificate of graduation, which qualifies them to enter the amateur classes in the new Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association racing series, as well as other race organizations that recognize the TrackDaz NRS. “We were thrilled to see that the students were able, largely without incident, to take a real race start, navigate the first turn, and race hard but cleanly,” says Dustin Coyner, co-owner of TrackDaz. “We worked hard to give the new racers a solid set of fundamentals, and it showed on the track.” TrackDaz, one of Southern California’s premier track day organizations, provides a number of features that will make your day at the track one to remember, with a limited amount of loaner riding gear available, Yamaha generators available for rent, and a photographer on site to memorialize your day.
