Denver, CO July 3, 2013

This last weekend, June 29th and 30th, the Motorcycle Roadracing Association held its third round of the season at Pueblo Motorsports Park in Pueblo, CO. High winds throughout much of the weekend added to the tough competition and close battles.

Dan Turner, the 2012 Race of the Rockies Champion and number one plate holder, returns to the top of the podium at Pueblo. Dan held off strong competition, first place winners Rob and Tracy from Rounds 1 and 2. Just under halfway through the season and the points battle between these top 5 riders is as close as you like!

Shannon “The Marathon Man” Moham swept the weekend with the most number of wins with four. Shannon continues to produce strong results this season despite more than his fair share of mechanical issues.

An impressive race took place in the Amateur GTO class where the top 3 finishers each came with different history within the MRA. Matt Diehl who takes the win has been racing with the MRA for a few years and has been a top contender with a 600cc and a 250cc motorcycle. Second place finisher, Zach Ritchey rejoined the podium after some severe injuries last year during a race. One noteworthy injury was where his right hand was broken into several different pieces. His road to recovery and mobility has been difficult but clearly successful enough to operate the front brake lever and throttle with precision. Brad Morris finished third in the class racing against a mix of novices and experts. Brad, a first year novice who has graduated up from the popular SuperStreet program, had a weekend to be proud of with several top five finishes across his classes.

Round 4 motorcycle racing for the MRA comes to Fountain, CO at Pikes Peak International Raceway July 20th and 21st. Don’t miss out on the continuing epic battles and chase for a championship.
