Moham Finishes Season With Three Class Championships and 4 Track Records!

Shannon Moham finished this 2009 race season with a bang””Literally! Despite an intense crash that left his ’09 R6 in shambles and a fellow racer’s bike burned to a crisp, Moham was able to finish the season with three Class Championships and 4 Track Records. Moham took home the coveted class championships in Lightweight Endurance, Supertwins GTU, and Modern Vintage GTU. What helped clinch the championship and make the four track records possible were the incredible Michelin tires and an upgrade to RaceTech’s G3-S Piggyback Reservoir Shock and 25mm fork kit. “The bottom line,” said Moham, “was the amazing difference Race Tech suspension made in our season. We could not have won these Championships and set so many track records without the incredible support of Race Tech. Without a doubt, Racetech has developed some of the best suspension components on the market.” Moham also commented that the Michelin Tires were absolutely awesome the entire season and always delivered the highest performance out on the track. A big thank you goes out to Vanmar Racing for the greatest tire out there and for such wonderful support throughout the season.

“This year has definitely been a challenge” says Moham. Despite an incredible start to the season with a podium finish in ROR U and multiple race wins, “the R6 motor gremlin got the best of us” states Moham. “We had top of the line suspension and a great shock from Race Tech, and we ran incredible Michelin tires, but we just couldn’t shake those motor issues with the R6″. Though the motor fought him all the way, Moham still managed to finish in the top 10 in every single class he entered, which says a lot seeing he races 10 races each race weekend!

“Though we had a lot of heart ache and pains during the off season, including my back surgery, 2009 turned out to be one of the most rewarding seasons yet. As Aaron Clark kept telling us every weekend, quitting is not an option”.

2009 will be a season to remember. Lots of people said they couldn’t believe Moham was continuing to race, what with his and Segren’s first child born at the beginning of the race season. “All I can say is that I want to be able to tell my daughter how important racing was to me and how important it is in life to try to be the best you can be”. Moham emphasized that he was on the best equipment, with the best components from his sponsors. “I couldn’t have done this without the ongoing support from my incredible sponsors.”
