MotoAmerica Doubles Up on New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Exciting 2016 Schedule!
Voted by fans nationwide as one of the top three road courses in America.
MILLVILLE, N.J. – New Jersey Motorsports Park today announced its 2016 season schedule packed full of the exciting on and off track events that have made the venue one of the premier entertainment complexes in the country. The ninth race season at the Millville facility will feature schedule mainstays such as MotoAmerica Pro Road Racing returning for two dates in 2016, the ARCA Racing Series, and the Vintage Motorcycle Festival featuring the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA).
“We’re thrilled to provide a wide variety of on and off-track events to our fans in 2016.” said Mark Verrastro, New Jersey Motorsports Park General Manager. “With the added MotoAmerica race and with more additions to the schedule soon to be announced, 2016 will possibly be the most well attended season to date”. MotoAmerica Pro Road Racing returns to the schedule for an eighth consecutive season for two dates on April 29-May 1 and September 9-11 for the championship round. MotoAmerica, the new home of the AMA Superbike Series, had its inaugural season of racing in 2015. The series, which is sanctioned by the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), features five classes of road racing – Superbike, Superstock 1000, Supersport, Superstock 600 and the spec-class KTM RC Cup. The series consisted of nine rounds and 18 races in 2015 with the championship getting started at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas and ending at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
The ARCA Racing Series returns for its 9th visit to NJMP, set for the weekend of May 27-28. The second-longest running championship racing series in the country (62 years) has produced the likes of NASCAR’s Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Paul Menard, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Also returning for a fourth New Jersey visit, the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association will bring a festival type atmosphere to Thunderbolt Raceway. With about 4,000 members nationally, AHRMA is the largest vintage motorcycle racing group in North America. The association has grown steadily in recent years, reflecting the increasing interest in classic bikes.
Off the track, new additions to the schedule this year will be the AACA Antique Automobile Car Association Spring National Meet; this is a huge national event which will be held on May 21st. This free spectator event will give vintage automobile fans the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of vehicles on display. The organizers are anticipating 500 vehicles to register for the AACA show. Family favorites such as the Zerbini Family Circus return for two dates on May 15th and 16th then later in the summer the KSR Motorsports Monster Truck Show will be churning up the dirt for three dates July 30th- August 1st delighting kids of all ages. NJMP is your destination for family fun in 2016!
Returning for next season are fan favorites like the 24 Hours of LeMons, the ChampTruck World Series and the Weekend of Thunder with Trans-Am Pro Racing on Father’s Day weekend which will include Formula Lites, Formula 4 and the Pro-IT series. The Atlantic Championship featuring the F2000 and F1600 series also returns to the schedule in late August.
Monthly events open to the public such as Cruise Nights and Bike Nights at The Finish Line Pub, NJMP On-Track Experiences, and Motorless Nights will all be back with dates to be announced later. An addition to our monthly events for the 2016 season will be a 5k run which will alternate with Motorless Nights on the second Thursday of each month.
“The versatility of NJMP makes us unique” says Brad Scott, Chief Operating Officer. “Each year we are adding more and more off track events such as concerts, mud runs and 5K’s, we have all the amenities that are necessary to handle the big crowds that these types of events attract”.

MiniGp, F-series GEARUP Challenge, LIKA, and GoROTAX will highlight the Tempest Raceway Competition Karting Schedule in addition to a full slate of rental enduros open to the public. The full karting event schedule will be released soon.
