As of 11:00 a.m. local time, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course was still being dried by jet blowers, sweeper trucks, track safety vehicles and Mid-Ohio Driving School cars. The biggest problem area on the 2.4-mile course is Thunder Valley, which has trees shading it from the sun. In the meantime, AMA Pro Racing has decided to abandon Supersport and Superstock qualifying. Grids for those races will be formed based on the times the riders turned in Friday practice. Also, the Last Chance Qualifying heat race has been canceled, and now the top seven finishers in each of the three heat races will go to the main event. Racebikes are being warmed up on hot pit lane. A third revision of the Sunday schedule is expected to be released shortly. Stay tuned.
