FIRST PERSON/OPINION Via e-mail: This last weekend, 8/19-20, CCS again raced Blackhawk. The new pavement seems to have fully cured, the tearing of the new pavement has stopped and they put sealer down in the bus-stop to repair the damage there. In all, the surface is now far better than it was before the re-pave, and the problems encountered during the 7/15-16 weekend are now gone. Personally I ran my best lap times in 6 years there this weekend, dipping into the 1:12’s. Many others found the track to their liking too though, as 12’s used to get you a win. This weekend, you were lucky to see a podium unless you were in the 11 range. Weather permitting, the track would be ripe for a new record on the next CCS weekend, 9/23-24 which coincides with the Wegman Benefit Auction. Jeff Kufalk CCS Midwest Expert #42 Sussex, Wisconsin
