Updated: ‘A Mixture Containing Bio-Fuel’ Was Used By All Teams During The 24 Hours Of Le Mans Endurance Race

Following the meeting of the FIM Alternative Energy Working Group that took place at the FIM Headquarters on Friday 20 June 2008, recommendations will be proposed to the FIM Management Council in order to adapt the current technical regulations and allow riders and teams to participate in FIM events using alternative energies. During the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, a mixture containing bio-fuel was successfully used by all teams, which shows the feasibility of the use of alternative energies during high level motorcycling competitions. The FIM is following closely the developments of alternative energy sources to prepare motorcycle sport for the future and to evolve by using appropriate alternative fuels in cooperation with industry, organisers and contractual partners.
