Returning this weekend to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for the CCS ASRA National is RiderSurance.com’s Andy Fuersthaler to back up the overall and class victory he secured last season with Ben Thompson during the team challenge. The two man team this weekend will be racing a GSXR 1000 fitted with Dunlop N-Tech tires ridden by Andy and Troy Meikle while RiderSurance’s Ben Thompson continues to train and rehab his recent hand injury to prepare for Laguna next month. Andy Comments: “It has been a great season so far and I am looking forward to getting in some dry laps, unlike the AMA round a few weeks ago. Last year we raced the team challenge event and won by a couple laps. With Ben not being able to attend and Troy Meikle coming out of retirement to help, we look to do the same thing and put the RiderSurance.com machine on top of the box.” RiderSurance.com is a rider and racer friendly place to get free quotes online for Health, Life and Disability insurance. The perk for riders and racers is that theonly products offered through RiderSurance.com are insurance plans that have no exclusions for racing and riding so you know you are 100% covered. Remember, wearing your helmet is not a good substitute for health insurance; get covered! FIRST PERSON/OPINION Via e-mail: Would just like to bring to your attention that the July 02, 2008 RiderSurance press release includes incorrect information regarding last year’s Road America Team Challenge results. Andy Fuersthaler stated that he and his BP CONCEPTS teammate Ben Thompson won the race by ‘a couple laps’ last year, when in fact there were 3 other teams on the lead lap. Those other 3 teams were CHUCKTOWN MOTO, 314RACING.COM, and ROADRACINGWORLD.COM. Mark Nelson Maplewood, Minnesota Editorial Note: As seen in the story linked below, a Roadracingworld.com GSX-R600 finished third overall, on the lead lap along with the GSX-R1000 and YZF-R1-mounted teams mentioned above. ~https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=29529~
