Evan Steel Performance’s Chris Peris was the fastest rider in the first AMA Superstock practice with a time of 1:38.920 around the 2.89-mile infield road course. The session was interrupted by a red flag, which was caused by a crash involving Chronic Motor Sports’ Lloyd Bayley. “I touched the white line coming out onto the back straightaway,” Bayley told Roadracingworld.com. “It started to go into a wobble. I got off the throttle and it got worse. I got back on the throttle and it got worse and spit me over the bars.” Bayley was uninjured and was able to restart the session on his back-up machine. The track had a few damp spots from overnight rains, according to AMA officials, but the session started on time.
