Dunlop and several AMA Pro teams and riders started a two-day tire test today at Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Present and riding at the test are: Monster Energy Graves Yamaha’s Josh Hayes and Josh Herrin; Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Tommy Hayden and Blake Young; and Team M4 Suzuki’s Martin Cardenas, Chris Ulrich and Dane Westby. The 3.5-mile infield road course, which is used for the Daytona 200, is being utilized to test DOT-labeled tires, and in alternating sessions AMA Pro Superbike slicks are being tested on the 2.9-mile course. Conditions at the test are very hot and humid. Lap times were not available at post time. The test is expected to conclude Wednesday. Update: A thunderstorm brought the first day of testing to a premature end at approximately 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
