Rob Gette succumbed to injuries sustained on Saturday August 7, 2010, in a three-bike accident while racing a WERA-sanctioned event at Virginia International Raceway. Rob most recently served as a District Sales Manager in North and South Carolina, and his career and love for motorcycles started at an early age. Rob and his father had a passion for racing that led him to his working at dealerships in New York. He always kept his customers in mind, helping them select the right ride and working the best deal. He always wanted to “do the right thing.” Rob was a true student of the motorcycle industry; he loved the people and was passionate about the sport. In 2003 Rob began his career with American Honda Motor Company as a District Sales Manager. His challenging spirit and intense passion for motorcycles were true assets for both his dealers and for those of us who worked with him. He excelled quickly at Honda and was promoted twice in 5 years, working in New York, Florida, and moving to the Carolinas in 2007. Rob easily fostered positive relationships with his colleagues and the dealerships he worked with; it came naturally to him. Rob’s love for the business always kept him involved with helping his dealers in their daily actions. Rob loved to race, talk shop with his teammates and he relished the motorcycle stories. Rob leaves behind a wife, Jennifer, and a son, 4-year-old Owen, along with many friends and family both in and outside of the industry. He will be truly missed by all of us here at American Honda.
