(Oakland Gardens, NY) HEROIC Racing Apparel is proud to announce the addition of Michael Laverty to its sponsored race team programs. Michael, an Irish native, recently signed with Celtic Racing and Orient Express earlier this year . HEROIC Racing Apparel is a new player to the racing apparel industry. HRA opened its doors in 2008 and had a successful first year catering to track day organizations, privateers and racing sensations like Robertino Pietri and Lars Remsen. Todd: Sponsoring Michael Laverty is a really exciting opportunity says Todd McNabney HRA Owner/Designer. Barry Gilsenan, owner of Celtic, contacted me right after Daytona, and asked if I had any room or interest in developing a Celtic suit / glove program. I told Barry that we would definitely sponsor him and we immediately rushed to get things underway. I also stopped by Orient Express to speak with Skip Dowling being that his company is very local to HEROIC. Skip was really excited about the opportunity as well and had many good things to say about the program and Laverty. It is really great to deal with companies that really believe in their programs as a family. I jumped on the design and finished the gloves and suits so that Laverty would be able to wear the new HEROIC Podium 2009 Race Suit for Barber and the remainder of the series. The Laverty Podium suit will be further developed throughout the season. Laverty: I am excited to be joining the Heroic racing program, Todd has a new company with a unique vision on suit design. I have just received my first suit which the guys managed to prepare in a very short time period, and the fit is good first time, they feel comfortable and are easy to move around in and best of all they look good! Heroic Apparel has some great ideas on style and design and I am really looking forward to helping develop the lines throughout the season. Best of luck in the 2009 season Michael, and watch him this weekend at Barber. HRA prides itself in designing and manufacturing full feature, world class race suits that are designed to take abuse. We fully stitch our suits with Kevlar or stated Bonded Nylon thread from the hanging hoop to the ankle.
