From a press release issued by Brand X Yamaha:

Faulkville, Ga., Brand X Yamaha had a very close race coming up 0.2 seconds short of second place overall after 4 hours of hard racing.

Bridgestone/WERA National Endurance Round 1:

Brand X Yamaha rider Ben Walters started the race off with a hole shot. At the end of the first hour Brand X Yamaha was second over all and second in class. Tripp Nobles showed he still had the speed by keeping the bike in the number two spot. Brett Champagne was given a new Michelin rear slick for his stint and showed he knew how to use it by posting some of the team’s fastest times. The team had an unfortunate unscheduled pit stop late in the race. The pit stop forced the team into a 30 minute fight for second. When the checkered flag dropped Brand X Yamaha was third just .2 seconds out of second.

“I’m happy with the results. Last year our motorcycle left in two pieces.” said Team owner/ rider Ben Walters. “The Yamaha R1 has the best power delivery out of any motorcycle I have ever ridden. The bike was on rails this weekend.”

More, from a press release issued by North Texas Superbikes:

Dunlop N-Tech riders Westby and Howard continue to roll.

North Texas Superbikes and Dunlop supported Dane Westby and Ty Howard both shined at two separate racing venues this past weekend, Westby at the WERA National at Roebling Road, Georgia, and Howard at CCS-South’s Eagle’s Canyon, Texas.

Dunlop N-Tech D211 equipped Dane Westby won two closely contested races against WERA’s best in 600 Super Stock and 600 Superbike at Roebling Road. “The D211 is better than anything I have ever been on, and I could just get in the corners way deep and on the gas sooner than everyone else,” said Dane. “The NT’s let me get around Jensen on the outside, they totally railed.” Westby also added two third place finishes in 750 Super Stock and Open Super Stock, starting the National series season strongly by leading the points in the 600 classes going into the next round at Talladega.

Ty Howard continued to set the pace in his first outing on the new Dunlop N-Tech 7 series Slicks, at this weekend’s CCS-South event at Eagle’s Canyon. Despite green track conditions and high winds, Howard established a new record of 1:49:40 during the Unlimited GP race winning by 52 seconds, and also winning the GTO race by over 40. “I was shutting out of it everywhere down the straights, trying to keep from getting blown off the track,” cited Howard. “But I was hammering the 1000 off the corners and could not get it to spin at all. When we come back again I know we can go a lot faster, and take a bunch more time off.”

North Texas Superbikes offers the full line of Dunlop N-Tec tires which will be available at all rounds of CCS South and the CMRA racing series. North Texas Superbikes supports all racing and track day riding in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana and may be contacted at 1-866-536-1279.
