More, from a press release issued by Autolite RIM Racing: Autolite/Rim Racing ready for Mid-Ohio Autolite/Rim Racing are once again ready to do battle against the best in motorcycle road racing during round 6 of the AMA Daytona Sportbike Series being held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington Ohio July 16th-July 18th. Running a limited schedule this year which includes all the east coast rounds rider Mike Morgan says they are ready to get the last half of their season started. “Having a month off can seem like a really long time”, says Morgan who is team owner and rider and who hails from Goshen, Indiana, “Mid-Ohio is the closest track we have to a home track and I really enjoy racing there. We always seem to find a good setup at the start of the weekend there and constantly improve on it leaving with some of the last laps being our fastest”. Using the month hiatus to rebuild an engine that was pulled apart at the Road America round due to other competitors complaining about the speed of the Autolite/ Rim Racing Suzuki GSX-R600 the team has been able to improve on their original engine setup. “With the help of all our sponsors this year we finally have really fast equipment, and it showed in the trap speeds at Road Atlanta and Road America,” explained Morgan, “We were near the top of the charts all weekend and I guess some teams didn’t like that very much so the AMA asked that we tear our only engine apart. After inspection and finding everything to be legal we reassembled the engine and put it on the dyno and tweaked a little more power out of it. Our hope is to use this extra power to help propel us into the top 15 during the 2 AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike races this weekend.” Catch Autolite/Rim Racing and all their sponsors at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend in Lexington, Ohio. Racing activities start for the team Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 1:30pm. Tickets available at the track or by calling 800-Mid-Ohio or by visiting www.midohio.com.
