NF Importers in conjunction with Motologic wish to announce that they will not be partnering to field a team in the 2011 Australian Superbike Series. The Ducati brand made a strong comeback into the series after a 10 year absence from a factory level when NF Importers joined forces with Motologic to race the 1198R in this year’s ASBK Series. The success of the motorcycle cannot be denied, as the most successful manufacturer in World Superbike racing, the 1198 showed great speed right from the beginning and many strong performances throughout the racing season. Motologic’s Paul Free believes that his team has proven the Ducati 1198R to be more than capable of winning an Australian Championship after featuring strongly in the results during this season and believes that had the team fielded the Ducati for another season they would definitely have been a strong and consistent contender for the 2011 championship. However, to field a team of this calibre in the Australian Series and chase the winning plate takes an immense effort and considerable financial resources. It is purely due to financial reasons that NF Importers and Motologic will no longer be partnering on the race track. The relationship between the two companies remains very strong and Motologic will continue their association with the Ducati brand and Ducati customers by offering scheduled servicing and specialised performance and suspension work through their Melbourne based workshop. Motologic’s Paul Free: “Our whole team including the riders have really enjoyed learning and racing the Ducati 1198R over the 2010 race season. We now have a race-winning motorcycle which we can take from circuit to circuit with minimal changes to the set-up and are sure of being competitive as soon as we hit the track. For me personally, I have gained a great deal of knowledge and have had to step outside my usual thought process a bit and learn what makes the 1198R tick, which has been a great and rewarding experience. Warren Lee at NF Importers has been a great support base for us and I do look forward to continuing to work with Ducati into the future as we will still be servicing their customers’ needs through the retail arm of Motologic.” NF Importers CEO, Warren Lee: “It’s been really satisfying and enjoyable working with Paul this year, his experience, professionalism and approach to fielding a top level Superbike team is first class. It’s sad that we can’t continue our relationship on the track beyond this year, however we look forward to our continued association through the scheduled service and other specialised work that Motologic can provide to Ducati owners. I take the opportunity to sincerely thank Paul and Laura, the entire Motologic team and their sponsors and of course Jamie and Jordie.”
