A silent auction of donated products, services and racing memorabilia organized by Fastrack Riders and rides on Chris Ulrich’s Team Roadracingworld.com Suzuki GSX-R1000 two-seat racebike raised $7386 for injured racer Vincent Haskovec and the Roadracing World Action Fund. The event was held during a Fastrack Riders track day event November 25-26 at California Speedway in Fontana, California. Items auctioned off included: an autographed Chad Reed Replica Yamaha TT-R50E mini-bike, a Wayne Rainey-signed framed lithograph, a Yamaha “Factory Race Team” jacket, a framed “Weekend of Champions” poster autographed by all of the Champions, Colin Edwards Laguna Seca T-shirts, a set of Michelin Pilot Power tires, a Nicky Hayden MotoGP T-shirt and Michelin podium hat, a new Mat Mladin Replica KBC VR2 helmet autographed by Mladin, Powerstands bike stands, a rare Nicky Hayden Hypercycle Suzuki race team poster, a new Shoei helmet, a set of Dunlop tires, a woman’s leather jacket and chaps from ICON, a free video from JT Motorsports’ Dan Shaffner and a free CD of action photos from Powersport Photography. The auction raised $5931. Over the course of the two days, Ulrich gave 46 individuals 150-plus-mph, knee-dragging rides around the 2.3-mile, 21-turn road course, raising $1445. Fastrack Riders added to the total, rounding it up to an even $8000 to support Haskovec’s recovery from the paralyzing injuries he sustained when he crashed into an unprotected barrier at Infineon Raceway in 2005 and to support the mission of the Roadracing World Action Fund, which is advocating and promoting the use of soft barriers to prevent racetrack injuries. Charlie from PowerStands provided several items, which included their new design of rear stands, custom license plate holders for sportbikes, and camera mounts for sportbikes.
