Kawasaki’s Roger Hayden led the first AMA Supersport practice with a time of 1:26.267, just off Tommy Hayden’s 2004 lap record of 1:26.082. Yamaha’s Aaron Gobert crashed during the session and was transported by ambulance to the infield medical center. Gobert was seen getting out of the ambulance under his own power, before receiving assistance to walk into the medical center. It appeared as though he was limping heavily. Update: According to Graves Motorsports Yamaha Team Owner Chuck Graves, Gobert crashed in turn seven during AMA Supersport practice Friday morning at Road Atlanta, badly dislocating one of his toes. He was transported to a local hospital to receive a pain injection before the toe could be re-located. More details will be reported as they become available.
