DENVER Now there’s a solution for out-of-town riders who have wanted to take part in the fourth annual Racing 2 Save Lives track-day festival, but didn’t have the means to transport their motorcycles to Utah. Rental sportbikes will be available during R2SL, courtesy of Utah SPORTBIKE Rental, for the May 3-6 event at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Utah SPORTBIKE Rental, located on site at Miller Motorsports Park, offers a variety of current model 600cc track-ready sportbikes for rent from Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki, including Supermoto bikes. More information can be found at www.utahsportbikerental.com. Bikes can be reserved online or by calling (801) 649-3806. “Now there’s one less excuse for not attending R2SL,” said Sharon Foxworthy, president of Racing 2 Save Lives. “We realize not everyone has a way to get their personal bikes to Miller Motorsports Park, so we’re pleased to welcome Utah SPORTBIKE Rental as a partner.” Racing 2 Save Lives, a four-day festival of track days and other activities to raise funds for children’s charities, is open to riders of all skill levels, even to those who have never participated in a track-day event. Experienced staff from APEX Trackdays and Madison Racing will be on hand to provide riding and safety instruction at no charge to riders who are new to the track environment. Registration for R2SL at Miller Motorsports Park is now open at www.racing2savelives.org. In 2006, R2SL donated more than $65,000 to its designated charities. This year, Racing 2 Save Lives expands to two venues, adding a second event at VIRginia International Raceway on August 14-17. Racing 2 Save Lives is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children’s charities by raising awareness, involvement, and capital within the motorcycle racing community through donations, corporate sponsorship and fundraising events. More, from a press release issued by Miller Motorsports Park: Racing 2 Save Lives Prepares for Return to Miller Motorsports Park TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (April 11, 2007) “” Motorcycle enthusiasts from Utah and surrounding states will have an opportunity to ride their bikes on one of America’s most challenging racetracks, and support a worthy cause at the same time, when Racing 2 Save Lives (R2SL) returns to Miller Motorsports Park over the weekend of May 3-6. R2SL is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children’s charities by raising awareness, involvement, and capital within the motorcycle racing community through donations, corporate sponsorship and fund-raising events. All profits generated by R2SL are distributed among carefully selected organizations who have a significant impact on the lives of children-in-need, and their families. Last year, R2SL attracted a record 350 participants and raised $65,000, half of which was distributed through Larry H. Miller Charities, and $27,000 of which went directly to the Tooele and Grantsville school districts. This year, R2SL expects significant increases in both participants and donations, according to executive director Stan Foxworthy. “We had such a terrific response last year,” he said, “and the facility at Miller Motorsports Park is just phenomenal. We’ve been contacted by a lot of riders who heard what a great event it was in 2006, and they’re planning to be here this year, so we’re looking forward to a big jump in both riders and donations.” The event is open to both street and racing bikes, with separate tracks set up for each group. The R2SL event represents the best value in motorcycle track time of the season at MMP. Riders interested in participating should visit the R2SL website at www.racing2savelives.org, where classes and fees are detailed. A number of celebrities will be present to ride and sign autographs, including AMA Superbike stars Eric and Ben Bostrom and Celtic Racing’s Chaz Davies, among others. Also on hand will be Michael Czysz and his revolutionary MotoCzysz 07 C1 990, the latest development of the bike that Czysz hopes will return an American manufacturer to international road racing to compete for a World Championship. Czysz and yet-to-be-confirmed guest riders will ride the bike in selected track sessions during all four days of R2SL, which will mark the 07 C1 990’s first-ever public appearance on any circuit. In addition, three-time World Champion Freddie Spencer is tentatively scheduled to appear, as is former X Games snowboard champion and Formula Xtreme competitor Jessica Zalusky. Tickets for Riding 2 Save Lives at Miller Motorsports Park are on sale now. Trackside Viewing tickets are priced at only $5. Tickets can be purchased at the Miller Motorsports Park Welcome Center or online at www.ticketmaster.com. As always, children aged 12 and under are admitted free of charge at Miller Motorsports Park.
