A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th, for AFM racer Eric Arnold, who died Monday, October 19th. Badly injured in a starting-grid crash April 26th at Infineon Raceway Park and permanently paralyzed from the waist down, Arnold, 47, of San Jose, California, committed suicide, friends said. Arnold was not only an AFM racer, but also a longtime instructor for the Keigwins@TheTrack track-day organization. The memorial is scheduled for Centerbeam Headquarters, 30 Rio Robles Dr., San Jose , CA 95134, at 2:35 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Federation of Motocyclists Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 4248 , Modesto , CA 95352, and cards sent to Helga Arnold, Eric’s mother, at 13864 La Jolla Plaza, Garden Grove, CA 92844. More, from Linda Keigwin of Keigwins@theTrack: Rest in Peace Eric Arnold, Beloved longtime Keigwins@theTrack Instructor and AFM Racer #235 Eric Arnold was injured during the start of an AFM race on April 26, 2009 at Infineon Raceway. Eric suffered irreversible spinal cord injuries that left him paralyzed from the waist down. After lying in the hospital and specialized rehab for six months, Eric was released and set out to adapt to his new world. Sadly, he decided the road he was now set to race on was more than his mind and body would want to endure. Eric ended his life earlier this week. He will be missed by so many. We love you Eric and will keep you in our hearts always. The Keigwin Instructor Family
