Harald Kitsch wins two European championships on the EBR 1190 After winning the Sound of Thunder V-Twin Championship in 2010 with the first EBR 1190, the Pegasusraceteam.com team started this year in the 2011 European Superbike open raceclass, which is an unlimited competition for literbikes and upwards. “Beside this European Superbike class, we also were competing to win the 2011 B.E.A.R.S Championship. So it was a hard year, and the competition with the Japanese inline 4´s, the BMW S 1000 RR´s, Aprilia RSV 4´s and Ducati 1190R´s was really tough. But the EBR was once again a benchmark for everyone this year. I really need to thank everybody, from the factory to the team, who put that package together.” said rider Harald Kitsch, who claimed the championship with a final victory at the German Biketoberfest at the Oschersleben racetrack, and the fastest laptime of all at the event. Crewchief Jens Krüper adds: “It is not easy to compete against the inline fours with a V-Twin, especially when the competitors are armed with loads of electronics. But the EBR 1190 has an incredible chassis and brakes, and most of all, absolutely outstanding mechanical traction. That’s the grip level our competitors try to generate with their gadgets. But traction control always means electronically closing the throttle, which most racers do not prefer if they can control themselves. The multiple wins with the EBR 1190RS show that if you have the right chassis, you don’t need that. My thanks to Harald, Thomas, the entire Team and everybody who helped to make it happen to bring home these two 2011 titles.” “We also had the honor at the event to present the new EBR 1190RS street bike for the press, using my own personal bike. It was amazing to hear their 100% positive comments after the ride. They were absolutely impressed, and the bike drew a lot of attention in the paddock from the race fans. Our team has had two years of great success on the track with EBR 1190 motorcycles. We have learned a lot and have won many races with Harald. Our growth as a team was shown this year with winning also the SBK open title against every brand of superbike this year. I am really happy, now we must look forward how it goes on with EBR and the sales of the 1190RS in Europe. I got to ride my new RS at Oschersleben, and it´s a real Superbike, extremely powerful and an unique piece of engineering and craftsmanship”, said Pegasusraceteam owner Thomas Wanner. “Harald had a chance to ride both my street 1190RS and his race 1190 back to back and he could hardly believe how fast the street bike was and how close in every way to his multiple championship 1190.” More, from a press release issued by Wacker Racing: REESE WACKER CAPTURES THREE PODIUMS AT WERA GNF Reese Wacker #78 wrapped up a successful season riding for Wacker Racing on his Suzuki GSXR1000 by capturing three podium finishes this past weekend at the WERA Grand National Finals at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia.
