Vesrah Suzuki’s Tray Batey, John Jacobi and Chris Ulrich won round eight of the Bridgestone WERA/AMA National Endurance Series, a 6-hour held under cloudy skies at Nelson Ledges Road Course near Warren, Ohio.

Brand X’s Brett Champagne, Ben Walters and Sam Fleming came home second overall with TVR/Team Moe’s third overall and first in Heavyweight Superstock.

Arnchu Racing came home fourth overall and first in Middleweight Superbike with Team Westby two laps back in fifth overall and first in Middleweight Superstock.

The race was red-flagged and called complete with 45-minutes remaining to allow crews to clean up after a collision involving the bp Concepts Suzuki GSX-R600 ridden by Brandon Parrish, who crashed, and the Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R1000 ridden by Ulrich, who did not crash.

After an investigation, WERA officials ruled the the crash an unintentional racing incident.

The victory was Vesrah Suzuki’s seventh overall race win of the season, and the team now only needs to finish 26th or better at the next round (scheduled at JenningsGP later this month) to clinch the overall WERA/AMA National Endurance Championship.

The race attracted a relatively small turnout of 20 teams, due to ongoing controversy over the lack of available run-off at the historic track.
