USGPRU 125GP to Join AMA at Miller Motorsports ODENTON, MD. January 29, 2007 The USGPRU is extremely pleased to announce the return of 125GP racing to an AMA National weekend. Following an 11-year absence, the much-missed 125GP class will return as a support class during the June 22-24 AMA Miller Motorsports weekend. After extensive coordination and negotiations over schedules, the staff of Miller Motorsports Park, AMA Pro Racing, and the USGPRU agreed on a schedule that incorporates the USGPRU’s Rising Sun Cycle 125GP class without impact to the already jam-packed pro-racing schedule of events. “I’m so pleased to have this opportunity to showcase the USGPRU races to an already great weekend, said USGPRU President, Stewart Aitken-Cade. “This is a chance for our young racers to learn what it means to race in front of over 50,000 spectators. Plus, it gives many pro teams a first look at what sort of talent is coming their way. They have already met two of our championship alumni, Josh Herrin and Garrett Carter. Now they can meet the kids that are hoping to follow in their footsteps. Prepare to be amazed at what these little bikes and riders can do!” When asked “Why Miller?” to debut the USGPRU series at the national pro level, Aitken-Cade replied: “Having raced on the full course at our 2006 championship final, I knew that this world-class track would be an excellent place to show off all of our riders’ talents and skills. It’s a flowing track that forces a rider not to be lazy and rely on the throttle. They really have to work on their corner speeds if they want to win this race. I also believe the Miller staff recognized the potential that our youth-focused GP class brings to the weekend. The youth-appeal, combined with our very unique Grand Prix motorcycles makes a great addition to any show. Fans get to see the mega-stars of tomorrow while they are still in their early teens. Finally, the Miller staff has been absolutely spectacular to work with. We really couldn’t ask for a better place to go racing.” The 2007 USGPRU National GP Series Sponsors include Rising Sun Cycle, RoadracingWorld.com, Motion Pro, Celtic Racing Performance, Repsol Lubricants, and Redline Motorsports. As the ink is still fresh on the contract, we are just starting to look for an Event Sponsor.
